ABOUT LA MARTINIERE COLLEGE
La Martiniere College, Lucknow, stands as a historic and prestigious institution with a legacy dating back to its establishment in 1845. Founded in accordance with the Will of Major General Claude Martin, a visionary born in Lyon, France, in 1735, the College reflects the founder’s enduring commitment to education and service. General Martin, who passed away in Lucknow on 13th September 1800, directed in his Will that his wealth be utilized to establish schools in Lucknow, Calcutta, and his birthplace, Lyon, France. To honor his memory, the anniversary of his passing is observed as Founder’s Day, a tradition deeply ingrained in the College's culture.
